A whānau who love linen, love home, and are probably way too invested in each others lives.
We grew up in South Auckland, did a decent stint in Aussie, and now call Tauranga home.
KO WAI MĀTOU | WHO ARE WE?
Like everyone in our neighbourhood our parents worked hard to give us everything they could.
Our mum — the maker. Our talented, fiesty go-getter that's a total force with the sewing machine and the reason our whare was always full of beautiful things. One handmade dress, red velvet curtain (it was the 70's!) and colourful accent cushion at a time.
Our dad — was the peacemaker. Our foundation and quiet strength. The inappropriate nickname giver and master of the "check yourself" pūkana.
Together they gave us a safe and loving home with a pride in who we are and where we come from. A legacy we're passing on to our tamariki. An intergenerational hand me down of aroha.
We are Māori and we are Pākehā. Like a lot of whānau, we grew up somewhere in between.
Proud of our heritage, but not always sure how to hold it. And for a time, that made us hesitate. Wondering if we were enough to do this.
But the pull to connect, to see our culture in our everyday, was stronger than the doubt.
So we jumped in anyway.
That's what Moe Linen is. Our way of connecting to our heritage and an invitation for you to connect to yours, whatever that looks like.
